Driving directions from Asheville
Entering the highway from Patton Ave, follow signs for US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W/Weaverville and merge onto I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W. Continue on I-26 W/US-19 N/US-23 N/US-70 W for about 18 miles. Take exit 9 toward Burnsville/Spruce Pine. Merge onto US-19 N. Continue for about 20 miles (will turn into US-19E N). Turn Right toward onto Micaville Loop (you will see a sign for Mount Mitchell State Park and 80 South). At the next junction, take a right onto NC-80 S and follow for 5 miles. Turn right onto White Oak Rd. Turn right onto Shuford Creek Rd. and follow for a mile. Shortly after the road turns to dirt, Mountain Gardens will be on your right.
Lodging
Students traveling from afar are welcome to arrive early and stay the evening at Mountain Gardens. Several secluded camp sites are available at a rate of $10/night per tent. Amenities include a shared outhouse and common kitchen/library. Alternatively, The Celo Inn (http://www.celoinn.com/rates.html) is located about 2 miles down the road, and offers lodging for $38-60/night with optional breakfast added. They recommend reservations be made as far in advance as possible, as rooms tend to fill quickly.
Refund policy
Partial refunds are available and must be requested at least 2 weeks before the date of the purchased workshop. For series, notice must be given at least 2 weeks before the first workshop in the program. Please feel free to contact us with further questions.
